Playboi Carti has always been an enigma of some sorts in the music industry. He’s essentially non existant on social media, with posts coming few and far between every few weeks or so, and his music drops are even more sporadic. After his explosion onto the mainstream scene in 2016 with hit single “Magnolia”, Carti dropped his self titled debut album, signed to Interscope through ASAP Rockys AWGE imprint, then went ghost. Of course he toured and performed at festivals like Rolling Loud, but in total he released 3 songs within the last calendar year with two of those tracks being leaks.

In typical Cash Carti fashion, “Die Lit” is delivered to the masses with virtually no promotion outside of a tweet from Carti late Thursday night stating it’s 12AM release. The project is quite lengthy, tallying 19 songs and a total listening time of 58 minutes. Carti also enlists a slew of other artists to bolster the project, from Young Thug to Lil Uzi Vert to Nicki Minaj. It will more than likely be a slew of ad lib heavy tracks with hard hitting 808’s, a mumble rap masterpiece if you will.

Stream “Die Lit” here to see if it is a step forward, or behind in Carti’s career.
